Hi my name is Dave Quinn, I am a Lay Preacher (non paid), I live in Merredin, Western Australia with my wife and two girls.
In 1998 I founded the Christian ministry PASSION Australia. This was set up to reach people with the love and saving message of Jesus Christ, to equip Christians in sharing their faith and encouraging Christians on their journey of faith in Christ.
Apart from my work with PASSION I have lead home Bible study groups, helped lead a youth group, been involved in door to door ministry, helped plant a church as Pastor/Shepherd, been a regular speaker at the churches I have attended and also spent some time Pastoring a local church.
The PASSION Blog is my personal ministry website. It is a place where I write about the things I have been reflecting on. Being a Christian they revolve around my faith, life, church, ministry and my Bible studies. From time to time I also write about my family, our home-schooling journey, my hobbies, sport or what is in the news.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching sport, bush walking, photography, vegetarian eating, blogging and keeping fit by weight training and cycling.

About PASSION Australia
PASSION Australia is a non denominational Christian ministry that is located in Merredin, Western Australia. PASSION was set up by Dave Quinn in 1998 at God’s call. Since this time we have been reaching out to and encouraging the people of Australia (and the world) through this website, by local outreaches in Western Australia and by visiting local churches.
From 1998 to 2007 we were located in Perth, Western Australia, but in 2007 God asked us to move our base to Merredin in the central wheatbelt.
Our Mission
Our mission at PASSION Australia is is to encourage people on their journey of faith and life in Christ. We aim to do four main things as we go about our work.
- To help people to come to know Jesus Christ in a personal way;
- To encourage people on their personal journey of faith and life;
- To help Christians be more effective in living the Christian life; and
- To help and equip Christians to be more effective in sharing their faith.
This is done by providing free resources for people to explore the Christian faith and to encourage Christians on their journey of faith, life and service of God. These resources are primarily distributed through this website, via local outreaches and by visiting local churches.
Why call the ministry PASSION Australia?
One of the questions we are often asked is why is the ministry named PASSION Australia and why do you spell PASSION in capitals? PASSION Australia is the name given to us by God after asking for a name to the ministry vision He gave us back in 1998. We asked what should we call this and that is what He said. We then asked if the letters of PASSION could stand for something. He said “Preaching And Saving Souls In Our Nation”.
Our Beliefs
The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, which we believe is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters of faith. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each possessing all the attributes of Deity.
God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s saving grace — not human effort — and must be received personally by repentance and faith.
Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplishes salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.
The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church. The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Those forgiven through Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.
Ministry Philosophy
Our Ministry Philosophy is the things we try to do naturally as a part of our every day lives. It is all about pointing people towards Jesus, encouraging them to do to things to help them grow in their faith and trust in Christ and then doing things that will positively impact the world around them.
- We encourage people to trust Jesus for their salvation
- We encourage people to read the Bible daily
- We encourage people to pray everyday
- We encourage people to meet with other Christians regularly
- We encourage people to seek God’s will for their lives
- We encourage and try to equip Christians to share their faith
- We encourage people to have more family time
- We encourage people to be generous in all they do
- We encourage people to live a life that reflects their faith in Jesus
- We encourage people to draw aside from the busyness of life to focus on God
