Proverbs challenge update
July 28th, 2011
As I said earlier in the month my wife and I are reading one chapter of Proverbs a day this month. Today’s reading was from chapter 28.
As I read a few verses really jumped out at me.
Verse 7 – Young people who obey the law are wise; those with wild friends bring shame to their parents.
Verse 19 – A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty.
Verse 23 – In the end, people appreciate honest criticism far more than flattery.
Verse 27 – Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed.
They are a few simple verses that gave me something to ponder today as I go about my work.
Proverbs 28 in the New Living Translation was probably my favourite so far of the readings.
God Bless,
Dave
